QUETTA: The Baluchistan Governor Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo, has described as “painful and shocking” the incident that occurred in Quetta yesterday [May 20], in which one person was killed and two others injured. In a Press statement issued today, the Governor said that the timing of the incident showed clearly that it was neither an isolated event nor an accident.

“It exposes a deep-rooted conspiracy, not only against the people of Baluchistan and their representative Government but also against the solidarity and integrity of the country as a whole,” he said.

The Governor said that it added further credence to the general fear that certain forces were at work in our country whose sole aim was to create political chaos and help to maintain a state of confrontation between different political parties and also between different sections of the people.

Mr Bizenjo said that “taking undue advantage of affiliations with the country’s ruling party some of these elements are engaged in activities aimed at defaming the representative Government in the Province on the one hand and, on the other, drawing a wedge between the people and the Government in this province. ...”
