RAWALPINDI: Police have established a modern waiting area in the Police Lines Headquarters having facilities of food, drinks, newspapers, magazines and WiFi which will also be available very soon for citizens visiting the premises to meet police officers regarding their cases or complaints.

The waiting area - Rawal Lounge - was established on the instructions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Rao Sardar Ali Khan and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ashfaq Ahmad Khan.

A police spokesman said the aim to establish the lounge was to give respect and facilitate people who come to the Police Lines Headquarters housing the offices of the city police officer (CPO), SSP operations and the SSP investigation regarding their complaints, inquiries, investigations and for meeting with senior officers.

He said its purpose was also to provide service to the citizens in the best and most convenient environment.

Service delivery and provision of better facilities to the citizens without any discrimination is the first priority of police, said CPO Omar Saeed Malik.

On the other hand, the IGP has directed all the RPOs, CPOs and the district police officers (DPOs) to take proper care of the force so that they could discharge their responsibilities in a professional manner.

The IGP directed the police to take every possible measure for welfare of the personnel, especially adequate provision of facilities such as proper residences, mess and washrooms, in police lines and police stations.

In case of suffering of any kind of illness/disease, special treatment and medication should be arranged for the personnel and police dispensaries should also be made functional.
