Woman’s tweet gets warden suspended in Lahore

LAHORE: A traffic warden was suspended from service for allegedly harassing a woman and her daughter, who were traveling by a car on The Mall on Monday.

Maryam S Khan tweeted the pictures of the warden who allegedly pestered them at 12:30pm at a traffic signal before GOR-I.

Chief Traffic Officer Muntazir Mehdi took notice of the incident and assured action against the warden. Later, he suspended the warden from service.

The CTO said the police would ensure respect for women and there was a zero-tolerance policy against the people involved in harassing them.

Ms Khan thanked the police high-ups for taking notice of the matter and suspending the warden for misconduct.

Meanwhile, the official twitter handle of the Lahore traffic police also tweeted if anyone has any complaint regarding any traffic police official, he can register his complaint on Rasta app.
