ISLAMABAD, Dec 6: Minister of State for Information Technology Ali Asjad Malhi on Tuesday categorically stated that the Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) has not terminated any of its regular employees. Responding to a calling attention notice raised by Naheed Khan in the National Assembly regarding termination of contractual PTCL employees, the minister said our policy was to provide employment not to terminate anyone.

He said the government regularized around 8,000 PTCL employees, giving full assurance of job security and workers’ rights. He said some 360 people whose services were hired by different private companies for a short period were terminated. —APP
