KARACHI, Dec 6: A meeting of central committee of National Party, headed by Dr Abdul Hayee Baloch, will meet in Karachi on Dec 13 to take a decision on the idea of a single Baloch party in the country.

The idea floated by Jamhoori Watan Party chief Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti is aimed at uniting Baloch political forces on a united platform to intensify a struggle for their rights.

NP leader Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo confirmed that NP leaders would be meeting in Karachi on Dec 13 to take a final decision on this vital issue.

Talking to Dawn, the NP leader said his party was in favour of unity of all nationalist and democratic forces of Balochistan for safeguarding the rights of Balochs.

However, he was of the view that the proposal was debatable and needed further elaboration. Given the peculiar situation of Balochistan and general conditions of Balochs, he said the proposal was very important so far as the rights of Balochs were concerned.

Considering the current situation, our party has decided to discuss the unity issue in the light of politico-economic conditions of the country.

Top Baloch leaders, including Sardar Ataullah Khan Mengal, Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, have been contacted by the JWP chief and consultations were also held among them on the proposed move.
