QUETTA: An accountability court on Monday sent an assistant food controller to jail and imposed a fine of Rs8.95 million for his involvement in wheat embezzlement at a government godown in Lasbela.

Judge Munawar Ahmed Shahwani of the accountability court sentenced Anwar Qambrani, assistant food controller and officer in charge of provincial reserve centre (PRC) of Lasbela district in Hub, to 11 months’ imprisonment, besides imposing the fine on him, and giving him benefit of Section 382 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
