KARACHI: A teenage boy was killed in celebratory firing during a wedding ceremony in Mominabad, police said on Sunday.

Area SHO Imran Mehmood said some persons resorted to firing in jubilation and a bullet hit Zeeshan Arshad, 15, in Zia Colony. He suffered critical injuries and died on way to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

He said the family told health officials that he was killed in a road traffic accident until a doctor identified that he suffered a bullet wound. They were trying to take away the body when a police team reached there and got the autopsy done.

The SHO said the family appeared reluctant to get an FIR registered as the suspects were said to be their relatives.
