RAWALPINDI: The Soviet Government is believed to have invited Mr Nurul Amin, Vice President for a visit to Moscow. A section in foreign diplomatic circles here believe that an invitation to Mr Nurul Amin was delivered by the Soviet Ambassador who called on the Vice-President here before going to Larkana. Earlier there was speculation in these circles about a possibility of President Bhutto’s visiting Moscow during the forthcoming tour of some Middle-East countries and Turkey which is beginning tomorrow [Jan 24]. President Bhutto has repeatedly expressed a keen desire to visit Moscow for talks with the Soviet leaders on problems facing this subcontinent. Meanwhile, it is learnt that a compromise formula is being evolved to save Pakistan from embarrassment and at the same time to satisfy Soviet and Indian demands that Pakistan should recognise Bangla Desh before talks for an overall peace settlement in the Sub-continent are initiated. — Staff correspondent
