Demand for pension payment

NAWABSHAH, Nov 24: The Nawabshah chapter of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat has criticized the administration of the Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology for not issuing pension and gratuity to Qazi Khizer Hayat, the former project director of the QUEST and a renowned artist.

A meeting of the Sangat was held here on Thursday.

The meeting was presided over by Sattar Sunder.

The meeting said that Mr Hayat had served as an engineer in various universities.

The meeting alleged that he was being mentally tortured by the university administration.

BOOKED: The Sakrand police booked four unidentified persons here on Thursday for kidnapping a man for ransom.

Abdul Sattar Jamali, 24, son of Darya Khan Jamali, a resident of Sahib Khan Jamali village, lodged an FIR against four people for kidnapping him at gunpoint from Mori deh.

He said that he took advantage of darkness and escaped from the captivity.

He said that he initially reached the Sarhari police station from where he was sent to the Sakrand police.

SUICIDE: A young boy committed suicide by taking pesticides in the Linepar area of Nawabshah on Wednesday.

He was identified as Mohammad Khan, 22.

The cause of suicide was said to be some domestic problems.
