KHARAN: Police are investigating the mysterious death of a 50-year-old woman who had gone missing from Kharan bazaar two months ago.

Her body was found in the Shay Othman Patt area on Tuesday.

Washuk Deputy Commissioner Younas Sanjrani told Dawn that the body was handed over to Kharan police as a first information report (FIR) was lodged by her brother there.

He said the woman hailed from Hurmagaye located in Washuk district. She had gone to Kharan shopping for her son’s engagement, Mr Sanjrani said.

A police official said the FIR was lodged at Kharan Police Station on Dec 23 and the body was buried soon after its medical examination, but the post-mortem report was still awaited.
