LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi says the PTI government should resolve the problems and worries of the people.

“If inflation cannot be reduced, it should not be allowed to increase,” Mr Elahi said as the news started spreading that the PTI government was planning to raise petroleum prices to history’s highest level.

Mr Elahi was speaking after he visited the residence of Senator Kamil Ali Agha and offered condolences on the demise of his elder brother, Dr Kazim Ali Agha.

In order to strengthen the democratic government, Mr Elahi said, the worries of the people needed to be addressed as the foundation of a democratic government could not be laid without providing relief to the people.

He said the government should take immediate and effective arrangements to protect people from further troubles and provide relief.

Former MPAs Waqas Hassan Moakal and Amna Ulfat were also present.
