DERA MURAD JAMALI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Balochistan, has claimed to have foiled an attempted subversive act in Dera Murad Jamali by arresting three suspected terrorists.
A spokesperson for the CTD said on Sunday that the agency’s personnel conducted an information-based operation during which three members of the banned Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) were arrested. He said some explosive material was also recovered from the possession of the arrested men.
The spokesperson said the operation was conducted after the CTD received information that three suspected terrorists belonging to BRA were planning to enter Dera Murad Jamali from Bambore mountains and that they had made a plan to attack security personnel and government installations. Soon after receiving this information, he added, the CTD conducted the operation near Pat Feeder Canal, Naseerabad.
He said during the search of a van moving towards Dera Murad Jamali the personnel arrested three terrorists who carried 2,400 grams of explosive material, 10-metre-long primacord, two electric detonators and 1,900 grams of nuts and bolts.
The spokesperson said the CTD was planning to conduct more raids on the basis of information received from the arrested men.
