KARACHI: The New Year Cup figures prominently in a five-race card that has been drawn for the Gymkhana race meeting being held here at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

The New Year Cup, which coincidentally is the first cup race of the calendar, has a field of half-a-dozen horses and will go over five furlongs.

It is the last race of the day’s racing order and also the feature event, combined scale order II and III.

The first race will see nine horses vying for honours while the next three races have seven contenders apiece.

The first race starts at 2:00pm.
