DIG injured in accident

LAHORE, Nov 20: City police chief DIG Tariq Saleem on Sunday sustained injuries in an accident on Raiwind Road. Returning from the Raiwind annual congregation, his car ran into a trailer which came across from a side road, police said. The DIG, his driver and a wireless operator sustained injuries. They were rushed to the Services Hospital where doctors described their condition as stable.

Senior police officers rushed to the scene soon after the accident. The trailer driver who was taken into custody by the police was set free after the DIG pardoned him.— Staff Reporter
