KARACHI, Nov 20: The Sindh Home Minister, Rauf Siddiqi, said that action would be taken without any discrimination against all those creating lawlessness; nuisance and indulging in vandalism in educational institutions.
He stated this in a meeting with a representative delegation of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers’ Association (SPLA), led by Prof Dr Shankar Harani.
The home minister assured them of action against those elements creating nuisance in educational institutions and misbehaving with teachers.
Teachers and mothers build nations, he added saying that those showing no respect to them would neither succeed in the attainment of knowledge nor earn any position here and in the world hereafter.
Mr Siddiqui urged the students to concentrate only on their academic pursuits and support the government in the action against those indulging in vandalism and hooliganism in the educational institutions.
He also urged the delegation to help the authorities in taking to task the external elements entering the educational institutions to disturb the academic atmosphere. In such cases, the concerned TPO should be immediately informed, he urged.
Mr Siddiqui condemned the menace of extortions and ‘chanda’ in colleges and said no one would be allowed to continue such activities.
The SPLA delegation included Prof Manzoor Chishti, Prof Athar Siddiqi, Prof Shamsuddin Abro, Prof Arshad Jamal, Prof Rizwan Haider, Prof Arif Zaidi, Prof Waseem Adil and Prof Arshad.—APP
