PepsiCo has become one of the fastest companies in Pakistan to reach a 100 pc Covid-19 vaccination rate in collaboration with the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Government of Punjab.

The company was able to achieve this milestone through a public-private sector partnership and with support of district healthcare workers, health authorities, PepsiCo associates, employees, and frontline workers.

PepsiCo also held multiple awareness campaigns across their facilities to enhance knowledge about the pandemic and Covid-19 protocols.

The public-private sector partnership resulted in the prevention of Covid-19 transmission and played a key role to raise awareness, prioritise employee safety, and safeguard families.

More than 3,000 PepsiCo employees and associates benefitted from the partnership. In these testing times, PepsiCo Pakistan has continued to strive for the health and well-being of its employees, frontline associates, and surrounding communities. The milestone was celebrated at a ceremony in the presence of Mr. Imran Sikandar, Secretary Primary and Healthcare Department, Government of Punjab, district health officials, and PepsiCo representatives. “Thank you, PepsiCo Pakistan for being a responsible organisation and vaccinating 100% of your employees,” stated Mr. Imran Sikandar, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Government of Punjab. “This is a prime example of what a joint venture between public and private sectors can do!", he added.

PepsiCo has taken on multiple initiatives as part of its comprehensive Covid-19 response since the beginning of the pandemic.

In 2020, PepsiCo Pakistan in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Ehsaas ration program, launched ‘Millions of Meals’ – a nationwide, disaster relief program to help those severely impacted by the pandemic.

This was yet another successful endeavor that brought together civil society, charities, and volunteers to distribute 13 million nutritious meals to feed affected families across the country.

PepsiCo’s commitment to uplifting Pakistan through community serving programs in partnership with the public sector has benefitted people nationwide, serving as a benchmark for corporate social responsibility.

PepsiCo Pakistan embarked on its In, With, and For Pakistan mission long before the pandemic to create a positive socio-economic impact on communities.

The company launched its virtual Roshan Kal program in line with the Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan program to promote skills development among the youth by offering remote internships to 1000 young students from across 200 cities in Pakistan.

PepsiCo also collaborated with WaterAid to provide safe drinking water access to community members in water-scarce areas. In the recent past, PepsiCo has supported potato farmers with a sustainable agriculture program that continues to source 100 percent local potatoes.

In addition, PepsiCo has enhanced capacities of local Pakistani farmers by introducing them to high-efficiency irrigation systems, high-yielding seed varieties, and agricultural technology transfer for greater economic returns.

PepsiCo will further entrench its ‘In, With, For Pakistan’ agenda across its business functions and continue to create positive social impacts, strengthening its alliance with the government for improving social sector performance and creating shared values for communities, including women and youth.
