LAHORE: Farkhanda Bokhari, widow of poet and educationist Shohrat Bokhari, was laid to rest on Sunday. She was 83.
Ms Bokhari had passed away on Saturday night after a brief illness.
Members of literary circles and political workers attended her funeral prayers offered at Idara Minhajul Hussain, Johar Town.
Being a literary person, Ms Bokhari also wrote three books. She was politically associated with the PPP and had to live in exile during the dictatorial regime of Gen Ziaul Haq.
She is survived by two daughters Barrister Maqsooma Zahra Bokhari, Syeda Maqsooma Bokhari and a son Dr Ali Joo Bokhari.
