NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Four persons who were kidnapped eight months ago in North Waziristan have been released by their captors.

Two other persons kidnapped along with them were released two months ago.

The district administration confirmed on Friday that Engineer Humayun Dawar and his cousin Advocate Atiqullah Dawar from North Waziristan were released along with one Hamza from Abbottabad and Shafiqullah Gandapur from South Waziristan.

They were handed over to the district administration and it was stated that their release became possible due to the efforts of a jirga composed of the district officials and elders from the tribal district.

These persons were kidnapped from Shiwah tehsil in North Waziristan on February 21, 2021, and later they were taken to Afghanistan.
