ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday reserved order on the petition filed by three accused in Noor Mukadam case – Zakir Jaffer, Asmat Adamjee and Tahir Zahoor – seeking copy of the evidence prosecution intended to use during the course of trial.

IHC Justice Aamer Farooq, however, issued notice to the prosecution on the petition filed by parents of principal accused Zakir, Asmat Adamjee and Zahoor who is the owner of Therapy works.

During the course of hearing, the counsel for the petitioner told the court that an application was moved to seek copy of evidence including audio-visual material which the prosecution had planned to lay before the court during the course of trial. However, the trial court rejected the application and indicted the accused.

Justice Farooq observed that it was a prerequisite for the fair trial that the accused be supplied all the relevant evidence.

The prosecutor Zhoaib Gondal said that the relevant record and evidence could be shared with the accused with the permission of the court.

During the course of hearing, defence counsel told the court that CCTV footage was not being provided to him. The court reserved order on the petitions.

Meanwhile, Justice Farooq also took up the petitions filed against indictment of parents of Zahir Jaffer. The court adjourned the hearing of these petitions till Oct 22.
