LAHORE:Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Interfaith Harmony and Middle East Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi has said there should be some limits in the political arena and political figures must show responsibility while commenting on various issues.

He was speaking at a press conference here on Sunday.

To a question, he said political leaders should mind their language while commenting on the security institutions and that the language used in the Faisalabad rally (of the PML-N) must have been avoided.

“The Pakistan Army and security institutions belong to all and not to any single party.”

He told a questioner that he agreed with the stance of Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on the notification for appointment of Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) director general.

The SAPM was also critical of the statements by some opposition leaders that the governance system in the country “was being run through jinns”. The country was being run by humans and not jinns, because humans were more powerful than jinns, he added.

Responding to a query about toshakhana (state gifts), he said Prime Minister Imran Khan was not disclosing details of the gifts he received from foreign countries because that might affect the affairs with the friendly countries which had given the gifts.

Earlier, he said the implementation of Nizam-e-Mustafa would have to begin from our respective homes.

He said the establishment of Seerat Rehmat-ul-Alameen Authority was being lauded by scholars across the country as well as the Islamic world. He added the authority was being set up “to guide the country in the right direction”. If such a step had been taken 70 years ago, Nizam-e-Mustafa would have been implemented in the country by now, he said.

The SAPM said elimination of the social distance during prayers in the two holy shrines by the government of Saudi Arabia was a great news for the Muslim Ummah.

He hoped that Umrah pilgrims from Pakistan would soon begin going directly to Saudi Arabia and that the Ministry of Religious Affairs was in contact with Saudi Hajj ministry in this regard.

Maulana Muhammad Aslam Siddiqui, Maulana Muhammad Khan Leghari, Maulana Muhammad Aslam Qadri, Maulana Shamsul Haq, Qari Mubashir Rahimi, Maulana Abdul Hakim Athar, Maulana Muhammad Ashfaq Pitafi, Fahad Butt and others were also present on the occasion.
