LAHORE: A double-hat-trick by Hav Shahzad Ahmed helped FC Polo Team outgun Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel 9-5½ in the Gobi’s Paints Polo Cup at the Jinnah Polo and Country Club here on Wednesday.

Due to Shahzad’s brilliance, the winners led the match from start to finish as only one stage the losers came near when the score was 6-4½ against them.

The remaining goals for the winning side were scored by NK Asif (2) and Hav Zia-ur-Rehman, while for the losers, who had a half goal on handicap, had four goals from Rafay Sheikh and the other by Mir Huzaifa Ahmed.

FC Polo Team dominated the match right from the beginning as first they took 2-1½ lead in the first chukker and then further enhanced it to 5-2½ in the second chukker.

Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel played better polo in the third chukker by converting two against one by FC Polo Team to reduce the margin to 6-4½.
