CHAGAI: The ringleader and two members of a robbers’ gang were arrested on Thursday after an exchange of fire with members of Levies Force in the Shay Salar area of Chagai.

Announcing the arrest at a press conference on Friday, Chagai Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shafqat Anwar Shahwani said the raid was conducted soon after the robbers snatched a pick-up vehicle from the Girdi Jangal area.

“The robbers were chased and they were later arrested in a house where they tried to hide themselves. Fortunately no one was killed or injured in the exchange of fire.”

The DC said that two vehicles and arms were recovered from the robbers’ possession.

He lauded gallantry of the Dalbandin assistant commissioner and his team for carrying out the raid and arresting the robbers.
