RAWALPINDI: A police official was martyred while an alleged drug peddler killed during a shoot-out between a raiding team and drug dealers near Mareer Hassan on Friday night.
Police said during the exchange of gunfire, Assiatant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Aslam Farooqi, 28, was martyred while Majid, an alleged drug dealer, was killed.
Police said shortly after the incident, senior police officers reached the spot and shifted the body of the martyred official to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Investigation into the incident has been launched, it added.
