KARACHI: Boy run over by coach

KARACHI, Jan 24: A five-year-old boy died in a road accident in Saeedabad on Thursday night.

Fareed was run over by a passenger coach. The coach driver drove away after the accident.

The boy was rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

An elderly man was crushed to death beneath the wheels of a train near Baloch Colony on Thursday.

The police said that Rasheed Gul, aged 70, was run over by Awam Express while walking across the railway tracks. The body was sent to Jinnah Post- graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem.

SUICIDE: A young girl committed suicide allegedly due to failure in love in Orangi Town on late Wednesday night.

Saba, aged 18, had fallen in love with a boy. She used to visit her lover’s house frequently. Her parents objected to the love affair and asked her to break relations with the boy. After this the girl became dejected and consumed a poison.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

KILLED: A young man lost his life when he tried to intervene in a petty dispute in Zaman Town on late Wednesday night.

The police said that Amirzada had bought a reel of stitching thread from a shop owned by Mohammed Naeem in Zaman Town. Later, Amirzada came to the shop to return the thread reel complaining about its defect. Naeem, instead of accepting back the item, started using foul language and a scuffle ensued between him and Amirzada. As Naeem’s older brother Mohammed Nadeem, aged 30, tried to intervene along with some other people, Naeem opened fire at Amirzada. But the bullet hit Nadeem. He died on the spot. Another person, identified as Sheeraz Khan, was wounded.

The police arrested Amirzada and Naeem on the spot.

Nadeem’s body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.
