BOMBAY: Khan Ashraf Khan Mir Gul Khan, a prominent Afridi Leader, who is here to enquire about the Afridi Hasan Khel Pathans, has issued the following statement to the Press:

“In Peshawar — rather in the Frontier — non-violence is the creed of the Congress but in Bombay it is not so. Hindu Congressmen butchered Pathans without any consideration for human blood. This shocked me.... I left the Congress and joined the League immediately. …

“Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan says … that Khudai Khidmatgar are [providing] yeomen services … to the Pathans of N.-W.F.P. and that the Muslim League is a body of reactionaries and British agents, Nawabs, Rajas and Khan bahadurs.

“I always held these views as true. I joined the movement myself in 1920 and served the Congress in different capacities. …I came here to enquire about my people. On enquiry I found quite different a tale. It is the Congress and not the League which is opposing freedom not only to the Muslims but also to all other mino-rities and it is the Congress and not the League which is supporting British Bureaucracy….”
