ISLAMABAD: Four people lost their lives to Covid-19 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi districts on Thursday.

Moreover, 147 new cases emerged in the capital and 76 in the district of Rawalpindi.

Officials of the capital administration said the two male patients who died on Thursday were in the age groups of 50-59 and 90 and above and residents of Tarlai and Bhara Kahu.

They said the number of positive cases and the positivity rate again started increasing on the second consecutive day.

During the last 24 hours, 4399 tests were conducted in the capital and the positivity rate remained 3.34 per cent, adding 87 males and 60 females were among those found infected.On Tuesday, 106 cases were reported with 2.4pc positivity rate while 124 cases with 2.83pc positivity were reported on Wednesday.

They said 27 cases each were reported in the age groups of 20-29 and 40-49, followed by 23 in 30-39, 18 in 0-9, 17 in 60-69, 16 in 10-19, 13 in 50-59, four in 70-79, and two in 80 and above.Likewise, eight cases were reported from Bhara Kahu, seven from G-8, six each from Tarlai, G-10 and Chak Shahzad, five from I-8, four each from G-11, G-6, Rawat, F-11, Alipur, Sihala and H-11, three each from Loi Bher, I-10, G-5 and G-15, two each from G-7, E-11, I-9, Khanna, Kirpa and F-15, and one each from F-6, G-13, Sohan, F-7, Rawal Town, Bari Imam, H-8 and H-9.

147 new cases reported in Islamabad, 76 in Pindi

Two people died of Covid-19 in the Rawalpindi district while 76 new cases were detected and 85 patients were discharged from hospitals.

Officials said 1363 samples were collected and the positivity rate remained 5.57 percent.

Nighat Naeem, 42 years old, a resident of Kotli Sattian, was brought to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Sept 22 where she died.

Moran Bibi, 55, a resident of Wah Cantt Taxila, arrived at Fauji Foundation Hospital on Sept 22 but passed away on Thursday.

There are 873 active patients in the district - 129 in hospitals and 744 home isolated.

The officials said 14 of the patients arrived from the cantonment areas, 12 from city areas, 16 from Potohar Town, seven from Taxila, 10 from Kallar Syedan, six from Gujar Khan, two patients each from Islamabad, Attock and Jhelum while one patient each from Murree, Kahuta, Kotli Sattian, Okara and KP.

As many as 129 patients were admitted in the city hospitals, including eight in Holy Family Hospital, 53 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 39 in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU), four patients in District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, 20 in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH), three in Bilal Hospital, one patient each in Hearts International Hospital and Akhter Rukhsana Memorial Welfare Trust Hospital.

There are seven patients on ventilators, 50 on oxygen and 72 are stable.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Saddar sealed three hotels and imposed fines of Rs15,000 on its owners for violating the Covid-19 SOPs.

He visited different parts of the city to review the implementation of SOPs. He also reviewed the implementation of social distance within the hotels and vaccination certificates of the staff.
