LAHORE: The traffic police impounded a coaster on Friday for defaulting on fine worth Rs39,500 imposed on its driver for ‘committing 53 traffic violations’.

The wardens stopped the bus in Faisal Town on the basis of the record obtained from the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSFA).

A spokesperson for the city traffic police said the record showed that out of the total 53 violations, the van had violated traffic signals six times and crossed speed limit 47 times. He said the electronic fines issued in this respect against the violations were not paid by the driver/owner of the coaster bus.

The vehicle will be released once the fine is paid.
