The Lux Style Awards has announced nominees for this year, and only naturally we cannot wait for the ceremony to light up screens with the latest fashion trends on the red carpet, breathtaking performances, heartfelt speeches, lifetime achievement awards, and all that glitz and glamour.

Maintaining their tradition of honouring new and old talent in the industry, the LSAs have announced nominations in numerous categories, including Best Actor/Actress, Best Emerging Talent, Singer of the Year, Achievement in Fashion Design, Model of the Year, Best Fashion Photography and many more.

Celebrating veteran entertainers and valuing the work of new talent and behind-the-scenes artists alike, the LSA is the first platform of its kind with a legacy of over 20 years.

The Lux Style Awards is a non-channel, credible award show that has always promoted and encouraged new faces in the industry.

With many award shows emerging and gaining popularity in the past decade, the LSAs remain at the forefront of celebrating and recognising true Pakistani talent.

As we impatiently await the upcoming edition of the awards ceremony, here is a list of all wondrous LSA firsts that have introduced international standards to local award ceremonies:

First to introduce the red carpet concept

Red carpets always set the right tone for any fashion event.

From the bold fashion statements to seeing our favourite celebrity couples together, we totally admit that red carpets host half the real fun in award shows.

First to go international

Pakistanis, especially residing overseas, are obsessed with local dramas, pop music and Pakistani fashion.

By taking the LSA platform global, many overseas Pakistanis get to witness the true essence of our media industry's glitz and glamour up close.

The LSAs took Pakistan's most talented artists to international platforms, ensuring as a nation we highlight Pakistan's true image and showcase our talent and craft beyond geographic borders; the platform hosted shows in Dubai in 2004 and Malaysia in 2007.

The first Lifetime Achievement Awards

If Mujh say pehli si mohabbat is not a part of your playlist, are you even a fan of classical music?

The melodious and unforgettable voice of the Queen of Melody still remains unmatched to date, and the LSAs were the first to recognise that with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The show is the only platform that has recognised true talent not just in recent times, but also all the way from the inception of Pakistan in 1947.

First Pakistani award show to host a marriage proposal

The LSAs have not just celebrated reel lives, but also witnessed and cheered on real life milestones for celebs!

One of the industry's most adorable couples Yasir Hussain and Iqra Aziz got engaged on the platform in 2019, during the award show with the entire media industry and a huge audience in attendance.

The first rap battle on a Pakistani award show

We cannot help but admire how the LSAs have been the first to show our favourite celebs in a different avatar, performing in ways unique to general entertainment trends seen in media.

Who can forget the adorable tongue-in-cheek rap battle between Mahira Khan and Osman Khalid Butt from LSA '17.

If you are also excited for the upcoming LSA 4, head over to their website and vote for your favourite celebs, designers, models and shows.

Disappointed. LSA should be held in Pakistan not in other countries. It is to promote Pakistan not Dubai, Malaysia

These wannabes are not real stars, it doesn't suit them to copycat the west shamelessly.
