BAHAWALPUR: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Bahawalpur, has lodged a case against a biology professor of the Govt Post-Graduate College, Khanpur (RY Khan district), for illegally entering an examination hall and assaulting an examination inspector.
According to BISE Chairman Dr Mazhar Seed, the case has been lodged under sections 186,148 and 149 PPC against biology assistant professor Muhammad Anwar Shaheen and his five armed accomplices.
Dr Saeed said a son of the accused teacher was appearing in the intermediate biology exam on the premises of the same college.
He said Anwar Shaheen entered the exam hall and sought bio question paper.
The chairman said examination inspector Muhammad Shamshair told him to leave the hall since he was not authorised to step in and seek question paper.
Once the paper ended, the assistant professor and his accomplices, also stated to be college teachers, beat Shamshair to take revenge of their `insult’.
When local police did not entertain the examination inspector, the BISE chairman asked police to register the case.
Sources said the accused teachers used the PPLA forum to avoid the FIR but the BISE top officials resisted the association pressure and got the case registered on Friday night.
Police could not make any arrest since the accused, who also run a private academy in Khanpur, secured pre-arrest bail on Saturday morning.
