Clubs registration under new policy

PESHAWAR, Jan 23: All the football and badminton clubs have been asked through a circular issued by the provincial government to collect registration Proforma from the respective District Sports Officers and fill for re-submission of the same.

It was learnt that the provincial government through a circular has asked all the provincial associations to conduct their respective election till February, next. Otherwise, the circular added that, their election would be conducted by the representative of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) under the new sports policy.

After the scrutiny of clubs election of the Tehsil and District Associations will be held in the first week of 2002 and the same would be followed with the election of the association on provincial level, the sources disclosed.

Similarly, the provincial government has asked the DCOs of District to conduct election of District Hockey Association through out the province. These elections will also be monitored through various resources, the sources added.

Only those clubs of hockey will be considered to cast their vote, who have been declared genuine in the recently by the scrutiny team constituted by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to scrutinize all the hockey clubs in the country.

The sources also disclosed that the Director NWFP Sports directorate has also issued instruction to all the district association of hockey to hold their election till February.

The PHF has declared 575 clubs genuine after the completion of scrutiny process. The lists of genuine clubs have been issued after carrying out the tough task of checking physical existence of the clubs through out the country.

From Punjab (341) clubs were genuine, Sindh (73), NWFP (126), Balochistan (24) and Islamabad (11).

In another letter addressed to the clubs presently existing in the tribal belt or will be interested in getting registration, have been told by the same directorate to complete their election before the above mention date.

After scrutinizing of the clubs in the agency, the election will be conducted so that FATA Football Association could be formed, the sources concluded.—APP
