LARKANA: Three cousins belonging to the Chandio clan drowned in a pond in Paroo Abro village, some 40 kilometres from here, on Tuesday.

Officials at the Mahi Makool police station of Qambar-Shahdadkot district said that the children — Khadim Hussain, 5, Ali Haidar, 7, and Suhana, 6 — were playing in the pond when they were sucked into deep water. Their relatives took them out of the pond and transported them to the Chandka Medical College Hospital in an unconscious condition. Doctors tried to save their lives but in vain. The bodies were handed over to their families after medico-legal formalities.
