PESHAWAR: A trader was killed and another injured when guards of a trade centre here opened fire following a brawl over an electricity bill on Saturday, the police said.
The killing prompted the traders to stage a sit-in at the Frontier Constabulary Chowk, closing the Sunheri Masjid Road and other arteries, and demanding arrest of the guards and closure of the trade centre.
An official at the West Cantonment police station told Dawn that the firing took place following a brawl over an electricity bill between the management of the trade centre and traders.
He said the shooting left two traders wounded with one of them identified as Khairullah, a property dealer, later succumbing to injuries.
The injured identified as Inayat was being treated at a hospital.
The official said four employees of the trade centre had been detained for questioning over the incident.
He added FIR of the incident would be registered later.
