QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that his government is working on a package to bring about improvements in the health and education sectors to provide quality healthcare and education facilities to the people.

“Providing best quality health and education facilities in the province is among the top priorities of the coalition government. To achieve this goal all available resources are being utilised,” he said while talking to reports after offering condolence to provincial Food Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran on the death of his mother in Haji Kot area of Barkhan on Friday.

Senator Danesh Kumar and Adviser to the CM Mohammad Khan Lehri accompanied the chief minister on this occasion.

Mr Alyani said that his government believed in paying equal attention to the development of all districts of the province and it would extend all health and education facilities to the people of Rakhni and Barkhan also.

He said that the health department had planned significant changes to make the trauma centres in the province more effective and equipped with modern equipment and machinery and was paying more attention to primary health centres, basic surgery and emergency wards in the far-flung areas of the province so that the people from there did not have to travel to Quetta, Karachi and Punjab for medical treatment.

Mr Alyani said that telemedicine system introduced by the present government was running successfully in different areas of Balochistan and soon it would be launched in Barkhan and Duki districts and Makran division also.

He said that steps had been taken for the construction of roads in Barkhan, which was going to become an important area with an industrial city in the next five years. “Barkhan connects different areas Sui, Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Duki, Loralai and parts of Punjab through road,” the chief minister said.

He said a residential college, a district headquarters hospital, a university and other facilities would also be provided in Barkhan for the benefit of the people.
