LOWER DIR: A couple was injured when the roof of a room collapsed in Kandao Khaima area here on Friday.

Said Bacha and his wife were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Timergara, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

The Rescue 1122 personnel visited the site afterwards.

Meanwhile, the district administration on Friday arranged an open kutcheri at the Ouch TB Control Centre.

The event was presided over by deputy commissioner Aun Haidar Gondal and attended by assistant commissioner Abbas Khan Afridi, additional assistant commissioner Jahan Bakht Zeb and officials of various government departments.

The residents demanded a crackdown on drug peddlers, resolution of the Osakai industrial land dispute, and supply of clean drinking water.

The DC directed the relevant authorities to address the issues on priority. He said the people involved in gas theft would be dealt with strictly.

The DC also ordered the removal of speed breakers on link roads.
