MUZAFFARABAD: Three persons died while a boy was critically injured after their motorcycle rammed into a mini truck near here on Friday.

Mohammad Younus, an official at the Civil Secretariat police station, told Dawn that Mohammad Rafique, 33, his sons Saad Rafique, 13, and Hamid Rafique, 11, and a relative Nadeem Khan, 39, were on their way to Chikar on a motorcycle when the accident occurred near Rawani Bridge on the outskirts of Muzaffarabad at about 1pm.

“After the head on collision, the mini truck dragged the bike along with its riders for more than 12 feet, leaving both adults dead on the spot and the youngsters seriously wounded,” he said.

The injured boys were rushed to a hospital where the elder one succumbed to his injuries, he said, adding that the condition of the other was also stated to be critical.
