Twitter users slam PM Imran for launching plantation campaign instead of commenting on Noor's murder

Planting trees can wait, people urged. "Women in Pakistan are scared."

Social media users have been calling out Prime Minister Imran Khan for his silence on the Noor Mukadam murder and launching a tree plantation drive in Islamabad on Monday instead as the country cries out for justice for Noor and other victims of violence against women.

The prime minister has not tweeted about the murder of the 27-year-old woman.

One user said the entire nation wants the premier to comment on the situation.

Others were more harsh in their approach.

Some users felt he was ignoring people's issues.

Others went straight to the point.

One user just wanted a single comment from the premier.

Another felt there was something amiss.

Pass bills, urged one user, who thought tree plantation could wait.

Some users felt angered by his plantation campaign.

Others felt that the premier had sown the seeds of violence with his earlier comments linking vulgarity and women's clothing.

One user created a plan of action for him and his government.

People across the country are crying out for change after Mukadam's brutal murder. Women have been talking about how they feel unsafe and let down by the people who are supposed to protect them. Amidst all this, PM Imran's silence on the matter has angered many people who are looking to him for support and action.

Why the people are so merciless and there is a lot of hue and cry over plantation? .He already ordered for a strict action against the culprit. So why we not spare him to deal with other problems as well?

Everyone on SM is talking about Late Ms. Noor. Who will raise voice for the couple who were hanged because of court marriage? Hypocrites at there best. Those who just keep aside the case of free mingling between the sexes should think a lot. Murder for Money, Woman. or Property is as old as humanity but to control it there are norms defined in almost all the holy books so please abide by them. Being critical to the PM will not resolve this case.

These twitteratis need to calm down. Hundreds of people are murdered around the world on a daily basis. Without plants and trees, even more people will die due to global warming, thirst and drought.

Once I was walking as usual in F9 park with my mother in the evening. Suddenly we heard men voices coming from opposite side. We tensed, but then I saw that few Chinese men (7-8) were walking. I relaxed. See if it were Pakistani men, I would have feared, but for foreigners I am okay. I know all are not bad, but I have had personal incidents in the park. I know all are not bad. There are educated people as well but still..... We stopped going to park after Maghreb.. Moral: jis tarhan Pakistan mein apni gari ki khud fikar Kar Kay chalatay, isi tarhan why go to meet men/ boys at their homes or other places.

It was reprehensible crime and he already order strict action. The due course is being followed up. Very disappointing how things are being manipulated to portray negatively a very positive step. Hundred of thousand of people are effected by environment change, including women, children, if initiatives not taken on time, millions of lives and livelihood will be at stake.

All of you can see how much time Paks have to waste on social media linking unrelated subjects. Moreover, its good the PM didn't comment on the case. If he did then it would have been taken as rhetoric against women. So a wise PM.

PM has much important issues to address to, instead of butting-in murder cases. there are relevant agencies to deal with such cases and they are doing so. just because the murderer and murdered belong to the elite class, does not provide ground for people to demand such foolishness.

The country's leader is also known as comfort in chief. People are waiting from the PM to hear some words of comfort and Assure them that it won't be business as usual but he will monitor the case and give women a feel of safety.

@Justice Global warming doesn't just impact current but future generations of all living beings. While women rights is an important topic, it is condemnable that the educated lot of this country are downplaying the issue of global warming. He is Prime Minister of Pakistan and should address all issues within his constitutional powers and human capacity. One man cannot fix all problems. I appreciate and support the women who are raising their voices for their rights and urge them to continue their efforts and fight until they are empowered but please don't downplay global warming. The masses already don't care about cleanliness and importance of tree plantation and rebuking PM IK's efforts will only have a negative impact. Pakistan is one of the most affected countries from climate change! My suggestion would be to approach women MNAs of ruling party and holding them accountable for what they've done in terms of legislation to protect and empower the rural and urban women of Pakistan.

Did PM IK HAVE to be SEEN planting a TREE in an already launched programme instead of lending support to the emerging ,blatant murder ot NOOR Mukadam? The public's point is: Does Imran Khan care so little fore women that a TREE needed MORE attention, and his EGO needed even MORE caressing? Couldn't a deputy ;publicize the TREE planting ? I guess Ms NOOR Mukadam DID NOT wear the RIGHJT clothes at her slaughter? PM IK is HIDING!

He’s been told to not comment on matters concerning sexual harassment of women because when ever he has opened his mouth his revelations and point of view has back fired, you see for him all men are predators and for that reason women should cover them selves stay at home and not go out, like many who are asking the question why she go there, why she mingling with men, bla bla bla, why don’t you all ask each other when women will be given their due respect and safety when will we guarantee their safety, respect and dignity they deserve with out judging them for who they are, caste, class, religion, profession they are our Pakistani women….When will we protect them/our women?

Seriously? Grow up. He is going to comment on every issue happening in Pakistan? He would be on Twitter 24*7 otherwise. Tree plantation is major issue facing Pakistani nation which effect our future survival. For murder, his government on it and police is dealing with it.

That's the sad part PM Imran khan. He needs to prioritize the important issues. PM Imran khan should seriously reduce basic food prices, electricity prices,petrol and gas prices. He is unable to get the country's looted money back from Nawaz Sherif and Zardari Shahbaz Sherif. Nor millions of gas and electricity theft from the rich ruling corrupt Mafia and politicians. He promised to provide jobs , improve education and hospitals but the poor masses continue to suffer.

He has become a true politician. Womens life, safety and rights are not on his list of priorities. But im sure when he gets the time, he will be happy to blame Noor or her family. After all she is responsible for her death by meeting a man in his home. Just like his previous rape apologist and patriarchal views. Systematic violence on women is everyday occurrence across Pakistan. Plants are more important for our survival. It's not like women are needed to ensure human races survival... wait...

@Anonymouseee No one will die if the world gets 3 degrees warmer. Global warming ranks 15th as the list of priority concerns for Pakistanis. They would rather have food and medicine than concern themselves with a natural phenomenon which can't be reversed.

Convinced; IK is very short sighted - rather than being a PM he should have opted to become a Gardener. Please ask him about his so called version of Madina ke Riyasat when justice cannot be served to even those who are most deserving!
