LAHORE: The deputy commissioner on Tuesday warned traders of the sacrificial animals to immediately get themselves vaccinated to avert spread of coronavirus otherwise they would be taken to the task.

“I give you all a 12-hour time for vaccination. And if you don’t follow the instructions, we will start forfeiting your animals besides sending you jail after getting criminal cases registered against you,” DC Mudassir Riaz Malik warned the traders during his visit to Shahpur Kanjran cattle market (Multan Road) -- Punjab’s biggest animal sale point in Lahore.

“The same instructions should also be followed by the animal traders at the other 11 sale points established in Lahore,” he added. He said the zonal / town staff performing duties at all sale points would also be penalised.

“The staff should also stop entry of the children less than 10 years in the markets,” he ordered.
