Twitter isn't too impressed with the PM Office's unedited video of PM Imran's interview

His office released its own version of the interview but people didn't see it helping the PM much.

Prime Minister Imran Khan's latest comments about an individual's clothing being linked to sexual assault are still ravaging social media. In a bid to address them, PM Office has released its own edit of the interview.

The video was specifically of the part where PM Imran was speaking about sexual assault of women and children and his belief that content on social and traditional media creates monsters out of regular humans.

Journalist Gharidah Farooqi face-palmed at this effort to 'untwist' the PM's words by not changing his words.

Journalist Jonathan Swan, the journalist who interviewed the PM for Axios, took note of this as well. He called it a "strange tactic", not being able to fathom how sharing the full length of their conversation on sexual violence helps the premier's cause. "But I am all for transparency," he noted.

"Which genius thought that the editing spin was the right way to go?" inquired baffled journalist Zebunnisa Burki, calling it the "worst kind of gas-lighting." In fact, she felt the edited portion actually protected the PM.

"What is Imran Khan if not a boomer drawing-room uncle given far too much power?" asked this user.

Comedian Shafaat Ali believes PM Imran and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi would be better off not speaking to the international media for a while.

This user compared the unedited version to the Snyder cut.

Does the video released by the PM Office change your opinion about the prime minister's words?

If such blunders done by others they may already labeled as not so cognitive thinkers, average or incompetent and there is already massive campaigns launched against FM and PM to force resign. But now all is cool and all is well.

PM and all the department heads should have a spoke person to deliver the correct message. Personal feelings and comments should never be part of the State message.

"Twitter isn't too impressed with the PM Office's unedited video of PM Imran's interview" Does it really take a few people on twitter to show the opinion of 220 million people in Pakistan?

Unnecessary pulling of an issue, everyone focus changed into this now instead of focusing on much more important issues. Alas as a nation.

Why HBO did not publish an unedited Interview. They just want to create hype about it. It's really good to publish unedited discussions. Our PM is brave and we should support him.

Poor haters. All put together, they haven't done half as much practically against the rapists as IK.

Your hatred for IK is just weird. Of course it made sense to release it - and the unedited version clarifies so much. Please try and be a little more balanced. You wear your hatred in your sleeves….

I dont get what doesn't make sense with what IK is saying. Totally agree with Ik about vulgarity linked to rising rape cases. Also media doesn't help as well. I am pretty sure if you pick stats and try to coorelate cultural norms the R squared value will be very close to 1.

I really liked the dictionary meaning of the word 'liberal' and for a second I decided to declare myself as liberal but by seeing the Pakistani liberals I backed out of my committment. The phrase 'khuni liberal' fit for the Pakistani liberals or western puppets. These people are more concerned about international media and believe that by following western trend and culture they could be called modern and for obtaining certificate of beibg a modern nation from western countries they are always ready to bypass their culture and tradition. Shame on such selfish and degenerates.

Imran Khan is 1000% right. The fault with all the sexual predatory violence, lies entirely with the careless women of our Pakistan, and their stars that they born to be of the wrong gender. They should never be allowed out of the households.

Seriously our society is only picking up one part of the interview not a single person has guts to say what he said about Bases or relationship with Afghans or USA. It shows what are our priorities

He has the right to his opinion. It's a small Twitter minority which wants everything their way. Most of the women in Pakistan also believe what IK said

Clothing does not have anything to do with rape but it does have a lot to do with temptation, attraction, and inducing desire. The prime minister is 100% right and has the support of a vast majority of the population.

Insupport IK. However, what is the need for Pak leaders to keep rushing to International news media. They can push their views via local media.

In a sex illiterate country, this is the level of discussion expected. This is not a feminist issue but a wider societal one where consent is criminalized, and rape and pedophilia are something to be hidden under the carpet, if not aided and justified by a few (and the many silent).
