RAWALPINDI: A milk trader was robbed of Rs400,000 near Mandra on Sunday.

Ijaz Ahmed was going back to Mandi Bahauddin after collecting cash from Rawalpindi. When he reached Mandra, three people with wireless sets signalled him to stop. The men grabbed the cash from Ahmed’s vehicle and after hurling threats at him, escaped towards Chakwal.

In another incident, Shahidur Rehman, a resident of Dhoke Lakhan complained to Saddar Bairooni police that he left his house to get Saudi currency converted into Pakistani rupees from a money exchange at the Mall Plaza in Saddar on Friday. After getting the amount exchanged, he was on his way back home when two unidentified motorcycle riders intercepted him in Dhoke Lakhan. He said they held him at gunpoint, snatched the cash from him and escaped.
