QUETTA: Former provincial minister for local government Sardar Mohammad Saleh Bhootani and MNA from Lasbela-Gwadar Mohammad Aslam Bhootani have condemned the hurling of a shoe at Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani.

The incident happened on Friday when the chief minister was entering the Balochistan Assembly building along with some ministers and treasury MPAs to attend the budget session.

They described the act, allegedly carried out by opposition supporters, as shameful and against tribal traditions. The two said that they too had political differences with Jam Kamal, yet they gave respect and honour to each other.

Protest was a democratic and constitutional right of opposition parties but leaders should ask their supporters to honour the tribal traditions and give respect to the tribal elders, they added.
