ISLAMABAD: A man was murdered and another was shot and injured in separate robbery incidents on Thursday.

Police said a man entered a mobile shop at PWD Housing Society when the shopkeeper and his assistant were taking meal. After a few minutes, the man went out and came back along with another man.

The two men snatched cash and mobile phones from the shop. When the shopkeeper resisted them, the robbers shot him in the head and escaped on a motorcycle. The victim, identified as Chaudhry Mansoor, died on the spot.

In another incident, robbers shot and injured a man at Gulberg Green, the police said.

Two armed persons intercepted Mohammad Tayab and asked him to hand over the keys of the car to them.When he tried to resist, the armed men shot him in the stomach and and drove away the car worth Rs2 million.

Meanwhile, an assistant lineman of Iesco was shot and injured in Tarlai.

The injured was identified as Qazi Qamar Jillani. He had gone to Tarlai to attend a complaint where a man shot him and escaped. The motive behind the attack could not be ascertained, said the police.
