THE students of Quaid-i-Azam University are aggrieved at the administration’s decision to conduct on-campus exams which is in contrast with its own earlier decision of holding them online.
Since it is the end of the spring semester, opening the university two weeks ahead of the semester exams is an unwise decision as the students hail from different areas — some of them far-flung — and calling them back for two weeks is an injustice to them.
The students are also concerned about the reimbursement of the semester fee. According to the earlier decision, it was notified that half of the semester fee will be refunded to the students, but the order has not been implemented yet.
The administration should maintain the decisions it made in March which specifically said that if the university classes went online, “the terminal exams will also be online”.
