LAKKI MARWAT: The Bannu police on Wednesday arrested two persons for molesting a 14-year-old boy in Ghoriwala area and filming the act.

District police officer Imran Shahid told journalists that the case emerged when suspects demanded Rs70,000 from the victim’s father, threatening him to upload the video on social media if he did not pay the money.

The boy’s father reported the matter to the police, stating that he had arranged Rs40,000 and handed it over to the accused. The victim’s father said the suspects were also demanding the remaining amount, the district police chief said.

Mr Shahid said the heinous act had occurred on April 21 and the police registered a case on June 15 when the victim’s father reported it.

A special team arrested the suspects, including Asghar Khan and Asadullah, after registration of a case against them in Ghoriwala police station.

The policemen also seized the mobile phone used to film the heinous act.
