ISLAMABAD: The Covid-19 positivity in the capital dropped to 0.8pc on Wednesday. As many as 37 people in Islamabad and 22 in Rawalpindi were diagnosed with the disease during the last 24 hours.

As many as 113 people reportedly recovered from the disease.

Officials of the capital administration said 4,170 tests were conducted in the capital. As many as 12 cases were reported in the age group of 30-39, followed by 10 in 20-29, three each in 60-69, 70-79, two each in 0-9, 10-19, 40-49, 50-59, and one in 80 and above.

Likewise, two cases each were reported from G-11, Khanna, G-7, Rawat and one case each from Bhara Kahu, G-10, Tarlai, I-8, I-10, E-11, F-11, G-8, I-9, Chak Shahzad, F-6, F-7, G-5, and Tarnol, they said, adding addresses of 15 cases were not known.

Active cases in the capital reduced to 1,218 from 1,294. As many as 64 patients are hospitalised whereas 60 are on oxygen support and four are on ventilators.

The remaining active cases are isolated in their homes, the officials said.

Meanwhile, one person died of Covid-19 in Rawalpindi district while 39 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours.

Zaina Bibi, 70, resident of Murree was brought to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on June 15 where she died on Wednesday.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 220 active patients.
