NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Students of a private school blocked the main Mirali-Miramshah Road on Wednesday to protest the kidnapping of a fellow student.

An eleven-year-old student identified as Nazirullah belonging to Khaddi village of Mirali was abducted by unknown kidnappers travelling in a car when he was going home from school on Tuesday evening.

The protesting students said they would continue agitation till the kidnapped student was not recovered safely. The road remained blocked to traffic for a couple of hours.

Later, local elders held talks with the protesting students and assured them that the kidnapped student would be recovered immediately. After assurance, the students ended the road blockade.

The civil society also showed concern over the increasing incidents of abduction of minors and demanded that such cases should be stopped immediately and students should be provided security.
