KARACHI, Jan 23: Three ships carrying containers and high speed diesel and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Meanwhile, for the second day in a row the berthing occupancy was maintained at 100 per cent thanks to steady calling by the tankers, while on the dry berths it rose to 58 per cent.

All the new arrivals as well as those awaiting berths were accommodated most of them being containers vessels. They are: Kota Sabas, MOL Sincerity, Swat and Kindia to unload and load containers, Al Velos and Johar to offload oil and Byzantio to load molasses.

Five ships, X-Press Dhaulagiri, Sagar, Kota Sabas, Themera and Simge departed on Wednesday, while Steel Trader, Al-Velos, Swat, Johar, Sun Trader and MOL Sincerity are due to sail out on Thursday.

Owing to larger handling of the liquid tonnage, the total rose to 98,862 tons comprising 22,158 tons of export cargo including 4,603 tons of rice and 76,704 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Warbah, with high speed diesel, Trompetros to load molasses and Trade Fast to unload and load containers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Jan 23: Two ships, Supersonic and Contship Innovator, carrying containers and iron ore were allotted berths at IOCB and QICT during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, two ships Bright City with coal and Qemstar to unload chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage during the period. Qemstar was expected to take berth at Marginal Wharf on Wednesday.
