Our staff reported adds from Hyderabad: A police source said on Monday that four ACLC personnel, Inspector Qasan Ben, ASI Asim and two head constables, were in custody of the Lunikot police.
The source said that six men of the Motorway police, including a senior patrol officer, were also interrogated and their statements were recorded by the inquiry committee. Statements of some other people who were at the place of the shooting in which Mr Abdul Aziz was killed, were also recorded.
The police source said that the investigating officers were trying to find out who was responsible for starting the firing.
“We are basically concerned with the fact as to who is primarily responsible for the incident,” said the source.
The source added that reports about an encounter with police would also be taken into consideration.
Furqan, the friend of the deceased, who was driving the car, told the family of Mr Aziz and local MQM leader that he did not stop the car because the personnel were in civvies and driving a private car.
Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Convener Dr Imran Farooq, Saleem Shahzad and MQM Coordination Committee’s Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar expressed condolences with Raees Ahmed, brother of Mr Aziz.
