SUKKUR: Problems of Sukkur discussed

SUKKUR, Oct 24: The district nazim, Sukkur, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, held a meeting with all five taluka nazims of Sukkur, New Sukkur, Rohri, Salehpat and Pano Akil at his office and reviewed matters of illegal encroachment, cleanliness, leakage in water supply lines, disposal of garbage and stagnant water etc.

He directed the TMO Sukkur to stop leakage in water supply line near a prominent hotel and disposal of drainage water on Bunder and Workshop Roads before Eid.

The matter of office accommodation of various officers’ staffs, equipment and required funds for newly-created New Sukkur, were discussed during the meeting.

Syed Nasir Shah ordered the TMO Sukkur to hand over new tractor trolley to the TMA of New Sukkur taluka.

He informed the meeting that as per directions of the Sindh chief minister an amount of Rs. 100 million would be released shortly for infrastructure facilities of newly created talukas of the province. The taluka nazim of New Sukkur, Abdul Haq Chohan, demanded bifurcation of property tax so that development works should be carried out in the taluka.

The district nazim ordered the TMO Sukkur that staff already engaged in New Sukkur should be allowed to work until bifurcation of both the talukas.

He asked the tluka nazims to submit development schemes in consultation with the UC nazims of their concerned talukas and give priority to roads and drinking water facilities.

He directed the TMOs to prepare Annual Sector Plan of their concerned talukas immediately.
