KARACHI, Oct 24: Four persons died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Monday. Fourteen-year-old Farman was knocked down by a hit and run vehicle on Super Highway near Maymar Complex in the limits of the Sohrab Goth police station. Police said that victim was conductor of a passenger coach and was crossing the road when he was knocked down.
In Kharadar area, Mohammad Amin, 25, riding a motorcycle, was hit by a speeding truck near Boulton Market on M. A. Jinnah Road. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he was being provided medical treatment.
Police arrested the truck driver, Naseem, and impounded the vehicle.
In Korangi, a middle-aged man died in a hit and run accident on the main Korangi Road. His body was sent to the JPMC.
In another accident, Arshad Ali, 12, was hit by a speeding vehicle at Banaras Chowk and was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police have arrested driver of the errant vehicle.
BODY FOUND: A bullet-riddled body was recovered from North Karachi early on Monday.
Police identified the victim as Kashif Ali, a resident of Liaquatabad.
ARREST: Police and the CPLC have arrested four members of a gang believed to be involved in the kidnapping and subsequent killing of a young man. The gang was operating in Karachi and Hyderabad. The suspects are being interrogated and more arrests could take place, according to the police.
The victim, Qazi Muneebul Haq, 22, had been kidnapped on October 10. Later, his body was found in Hyderabad, the police said.
His family members told the police and CPLC that they had received a call from the kidnappers seeking ransom. However, they said, the kidnapper refused to let them talk to Qazi Muneeb. His father came to know about his son’s fate while going through the photographs of unclaimed bodies at Edhi Foundation.
