KARACHI, Oct 24: The University of Karachi, on Monday announced that the first and second year 2nd semester terminal exams of BSc (honours and subsidiaries) will commence from Nov 14.

According to the semester exams schedule, first year 2nd semester exams 2005 will commence from Nov 14 and continue till Dec 3. All honours exams of the first year 2nd semester will be held on Nov 29.

The second year 2nd semester exams will also commence from Nov 14 and continue till Saturday, Dec 3. All honours (major) subjects’ exams would be held on Dec 1.

In another notification, the KU exams department said fresh registration forms of BA, BCom and BSc (improvement of division) annual exams 2005 would be accepted from Oct 24 to 31 with Rs1,000 as late fee.

Registration forms can be obtained from the NBP and UBL counters at the main Silver Jubilee gate of the KU and can be submitted back along with Rs2,300 as registration fee till Oct 31.

Candidates who passed intermediate examinations in 2005 are not eligible for submission of registration forms for annual exams 2005.

Meanwhile, those students of BA and BCom who appeared in the supplementary exams 2004 and did not clear, their exam forms for annual exams 2005 will be accepted from Oct 24 to 31 without any late fee.

Candidates registered on or before 2000 will be eligible while students registered with the KU in 1999 or earlier are required to submit their exam forms with special fee/fine of Rs800.

Meanwhile, students including those who appeared in the supplementary exams 2004 of BA (regular), BSc and BCom (regular) classes and who have not yet submitted their exam forms of annual exams 2005 can also submit their forms from Oct 25 to 31 without any late fee. —PPI
